Jose Rizal was a Filipino nationalist and polymath during the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines. He is widely considered one of the greatest heroes of the Philippines for his writings, particularly his novels Noli Me Tángere and El filibusterismo, which exposed the abuses of the Spanish colonial government. His advocacy for reforms and his eventual martyrdom inspired the Philippine Revolution. |
